One day Jennifer, my friend, was at work at a business that caters to children. There was a family there that had two young children, one roughly three years of age and the other six years old. The children’s mother decided to leave the business to take the younger child home leaving the older child playing in the play area, under dad’s supervision. Makes sense, right? Well dad goes to the back office to speak with an administrator regarding his children’s paperwork. Once finished speaking with the administrator, dad goes back to the lobby to check on his son, and…… he’s gone!
The staff combs over the office, again and again, calling the child’s name, to no avail. Finally, a staff member suggests looking at the security camera footage to hopefully get an idea of exactly what happened and where the child went. As she and the business owner sped up the recording and slowed it down, they finally got to place in the video that showed the young child leaving the building!
The police were then contacted, and a short manhunt was underway. Fortunately, a good Samaritan encountered the young child a few blocks away from the business and he was picked up by the Police and returned to his frantic parents.
Chilling story right!? What’s the takeaway? In this situation, the security camera proved to be extremely helpful. In a nerve-racking situation, the security camera was able to shave off precious seconds in locating a missing child and provided great footage of exactly what happened.
